[ARCHIVED] MS4 Community Reminder

MS4 pool

As part of Hempfield Township’s Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System, or MS4, Permit with the Pennsylvania DEP, the Hempfield Township Supervisors would like remind all people who live and work within the Township that our storm sewer inlets, curbs and gutters, drainage ditches and storm pipes discharge directly and untreated into Jacks Run, Sewickley Creek, Brush Creek and other natural waterways withing the Township.  In order to help keep or stream and lakes clean and pollution-free, we remind residents and businesses to please:

If draining your pool, allow your pool to dechlorinate first by keeping it uncovered and waiting ten (10) days after its last chlorination to allow the chlorine to dissipate in the air.

Together, we can project and preserve the steams and lakes of our community.
