Summer Day Camp
As always, Hempfield Township remains committed to maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment for our staff and campers. In partnership with the American Camping Association, we are closely monitoring information about COVID-19 and are activity discussing the latest updates from the Center for Diesase Control and Prevention.
At this time we are planning on providing our campers with a much-needed, fun filled summer camper experience for summer 2021. We will continue to monitor the effects of Corona-virus and our ability to run summer camp this year.
Camper Health Guidelines
• At drop off each morning a counselor will ask the parent/guardian if the child has had a cough, fever or shortness of breath in the last 72 hours. If the answer is yes, the camper will NOT be allowed to attend camp until they have been symptom free for 72 hours.
• If a camper develops a fever of 100 degrees or higher or consistent cough during the camp day a parent will be notified immediately to come pick the camper up. The camper may return after being symptom free for 72 hours
• Parents are responsible to let the Head Counselor know immediately if their child has symptoms or has been diagnosed with a Communicable Disease.
• Parent/Guardian will be notified immediately if a camper becomes ill or sustains an injury of a serious nature.
• Please do not bring your child to camp if they feel ill, or have had a fever, coughing, vomiting or diarrhea.
Campers will be asked to wash hands a few extra times during the day. Hand washing steps will be placed on the walls in the bathrooms for campers to follow. Counselors will be monitoring coughing and sneezing and have campers immediately wash hands as well as teach them to cough and sneeze into elbows. Small groups and social distancing will be a priority through out the day as well.
